A Sweet Message - Week 17
Holiday Greetings, Reed City Families!
This week I’d like to give a shout-out to our bowling team that landed three bowlers in the top 10 during the CSAA Bowling Jamboree on Saturday. In the boys’ division, Jacob Taylor finished eighth with 941 total pins, and Matt Vanderhoff finished in tenth place with 895 pins. In the girls’ division, Carly Carlson finished sixth with 818 pins. Congratulations to all! The teams are off until after the holidays.
I’d also like to recognize our second and third-graders who had their holiday concert on Wednesday night. There were smiles all around as students performed many of the classics, giving their own special twists to each song. It’s something I look forward to every year, and this one did not disappoint.
As we wind down toward the holidays it’s my hope that each of you has the opportunity to experience your favorite traditions with friends and family. Perhaps you’re creating new traditions this year. In any case, it’s these traditions--old and new--where we can find the greatest meaning. It is with great fondness that each year, I place the angel atop the Sweet family Christmas tree. I remember my dad doing it every year when I was a kid so it’s a tradition I’ve adopted as an adult. Another tradition in my household revolves around caramel corn. When our children were young, my wife, Michelle, made a giant batch of it. She has maintained that tradition and now sends it to our adult children who live out of state. No matter how you celebrate, I hope you find peace and joy this holiday season.
Sincerely,
Mike Sweet, Superintendent
